How to get to Vienna
By train:
You will most likely arrive at the central station (Wien Hauptbahnhof), which is located in the 10th district in the southern part of Vienna. There are many good hotels available next to the train station and the direct station area is very save. From there, the UBB can be reached by using tram line 18.
If you use the "Westbahn", which connects Vienna with west Austria (e.g. Salzburg) you will arrive at train station west (Wien Westbahnhof), which is located in the 15th district in the western part of Vienna. From there, the UBB can be reached by using subway line U3 or tram line 18.
By plane:
You will arrive at Vienna International Airport, which is located in the south outside of Vienna. From there, you have several options to get to Vienna and/or the UBB:
Train line S7: the train station is located in the basement of the airport. The train line S7 connects the airport with the UBB in the 3rd district of Vienna. Be aware: because the airport is located outside of Vienna, an additional single ticket is needed to get from the airport to Vienna or vice versa (in addition to your ticket for Vienna).
City airport train (CAT): the train station is located in the basement of the airport. The CAT connects the airport with Vienna central (Wien Mitte), which is located in the 3rd district of Vienna. From there, the UBB can be reached by using subway line U3 or bus line 74A. Tickets for the CAT can be bought online.
Taxi: taxi stands are almost everywhere when leaving the arrival hall of the airport. The costs are approximately 40 – 50 €.
By car:
Parking your car in Vienna is complicated and costly. If you have no possibility to park your car in your hotel’s garage, we recommend to use one of many available "Park & Ride" garages. The next "Park & Ride" garage close to the UBB is in "Erdberg" in the 3rd district. From there, the UBB is reached by using subway line U3. Parking in a "Park & Ride" garage costs 4,10 € per day. For more information visit the "Park & Ride" homepage.
Accommodation
Please book a hotel on your own. Vienna is a very safe city, there are no districts which should be avoided.
We recommend booking a hotel as soon as possible. Vienna is a very popular tourist destination and convention city! Many hotels are fully booked in autumn.
